Monty Python’s The Life of Brian is one of the most provocative comedies of all time and contrary to people who have never seen the movie (or are deliberately misinterpreting it) it does not make fun of Jesus or anything sacred. The movie is a parody of cults, followers and misinterpretation.

Like the Star Wars Holiday special the Goddamn Batman has a past that is not entirely clean. And like the Star Wars Holiday special he was forced to do things he regrets now. No, I am not talking about the 60s series – that one is a piece of art in itself – I am talking of course about Batman and Robin a movie that made less sense than the Adam West series.

Love Actually is the movie that will always wind up somehow in a Christmas list I put together. Directed by Richard Curtis (the director of the equally fabulous The Boat that Rocked) this movie features a huge ensemble of many of the best British actors alive. Each story is set during the time before Christmas and those short stories interconnect from time to time – but mostly they stand as short movies about a certain type of love, some rewarding, some unrewarding, some unexpected.
Even though we have had a lot of photos and exposure of The Dark Knight Rises most of it were set videos and nothing official from Warner Brothers. This has now changed as the marketing for TDKR has kicked in full gear.

I doubt I can ever get tired of praising The Boat that Rocked as one of the most underappreciated feelgood movies I have ever seen. Directed by Richard Curtis (Love Actually) this movie tells the story of a group of DJ’s sitting on a boat where they (semi)-illegally broadcast Rock ‘n Roll music.
