A Lannister always pays his debts

A black screen, the sound of swords and we cut to a frightened Samwell Tarly running through a snowstorm. A mutilated body and an attack later we are faced with the grim remains of the Nightswatch being the only hope to warn the people of Westeros.

 Because Winter has finally come…

A Lannister always pays his debts

Game of Thrones returns for its third season – and if you ask anyone who has read the books they will swear that the third book A Storm of Swords is the most action packed story with a lot of twists waiting for us. It is because of this super-dense plot that the third book will be split into 2 seasons but the producers already stated that they stop thinking “one book per season” as they did with seasons 1 and 2.

And this year flipthetruck will closely follow each episode!

An alternate version of the Star Trek Into Darkness Teaser has surfaced. It is the one that is attached to Oz: The Great and Powerful so it is geared towards the younger audience featuring more running, whacky looks and less Cumberbatch brooding and vowing revenge:

Banner Phase Two

There is a lot of responsibility resting on the shoulders of Iron Man 3. Not only does the movie have to make up for Iron Man 2 it also has to launch Marvel’s second phase in a post-Avengers world. So the movie not only has its own problems but needs to justify the solo movie in a world in which the audience knows that there is a hero around every corner.

So far Marvel Iron Man 3 looks to go into Iron Man Rises territory with Stark being defeated by an enemy who has ties to the first Iron Man movie (the ten rings have been hinted from the very beginning). Iron Man 3 will have a lot of different Iron Man suits (and a cynic might say that it is to sell more toys… which is probably one of the reasons) and aside from Tony’s golden armor which is featured in the trailers a new concept art has been released (via Comicbookmovie):

Tonight’s the night! And it will be a wild and unpredictable night!
Tonight the Oscar goes to….?
As with last year I have sat down with ExistentialCoffee to pin down our votes for the evening. If we agreed on one tip it will be listed as our prediction Will Win whereas different colors for Flipthetruck and ExistentialCoffee will. Should have been there and Should Win categories are added for fun whereas Could Win categories mark the one’s which might take home the gold.
Please note that I am notoriously bad at predictions and while this article might sound very confident (and probably full of itself/pretentious) I am taking a stab in the dark many times (director, supporting actor, original screenplay mainly) – the percentage at the side is just how sure we feel about this guess so don’t take them as laws of nature. This year has been a crazy race especially due to the omission of Ben Affleck and it will be a fun evening, I am sure.

If you are interested in continuous self-indulgent whining by flipthetruck you can follow my reactions on twitter.

So, it is only a few hours before the show begins and I am ready!
