It started with a planecrash on a deserted island and what followed was a television phenomenon that would span 5 seasons of intricate puzzles – and a final season which pretended that it has never been about the riddles after all.
But no matter how disappointing the “have-the-cake-and-eat-it”- finale has been before this Lost was undeniably a fantastic show and the disappointment over the ending just shows the craftsmanship behind the storytelling.
And therefore this year’s Christmas Advent Calendar culminates in what is my favorite episode of Lost: The Constant
When a helicopter leaves the mysterious island one of the protagonists Desmond starts having flashes where he wakes up during his military service eight years ago. He doesn’t know what’s happening and suddenly he is back in the helicopter … but he doesn’t remember anything, he still thinks he is in military service.
The jumps between the time get more intense and the protagonists have to figure out how to stop it before Desmond suffers an aneurism.
If you haven’t seen Lost just try this episode as a standalone and act as if it were an episode of X-factor/Twilight Zone. Seeing as Desmond knows as little about the island and story as someone who watches his first episode of Lost it is a heartfelt, self contained story that has a pivotal phonecall on Christmas Eve.
That being said:
A Merry Christmas to all of you
and thanks you very much for the interest
