Another scary scene, this time from one of my all time favorite Christmas-movies:
Home Alone.
When Kevin doesn’t want to be with his family he wishes for them to just go away so he can be alone. Due to a storm the electricity gets knocked out and in the hurry the family forgets that Kevin is still upstairs. What fows is the story of a little boy growing up and learning to appreciate his family despite the conflicts – and being very happy when he is reunited with his mom.
But before all the hilarious saw-esque traps he needs to scare of the burglars we have to suffer through a spooky storm sequence. Featuring a Santa Clause within a wreath on the door which just moves rapidly in the wind, but that sufficed to give my sister and me nightmares. When we rewatch the scene nowadays both of us start to shiver a little remembering that just the few seconds of this Santa figure are probably scarier than many horror movies.
