So after the PGA, DGA and SAG, the Writers Guild selected their winners and they were:
Best original Screenplay: Inception
Best adapted Screenplay: The Social Network
Now of course one has to note the fact that the Writers Guild has the most idiotic selection criterias so that many screenplays don’t make the cut for some ridiculous reason (last year Inglourious Basterds was not eligible because Tarantino is no member of the WGA and District 9 was not eligible because it was based on a short film – what the..?) and this year’s frontrunner The King’s Speech was not eliglible, so the win for Inception is a win because of the absence of the mammoth.
But still it’s great to see that at least Inception is very well regarded and after not getting nominated for director a well deserved screenplay win and receiving the “Modern Master Award” at Santa Barbara, Inception gets a little bit of love again.

Also the Art Directors Guild Awards are in:
Contemporary Feature: Black Swan
Fantasy Feature: Inception
Period Picture: The King’s Speech
You can guess which one of the three will take home the Oscar gold…
