Finally Christian Bale gets the recognition he deserves for his performance in “The Fighter”. He won the Golden Globe for best supporting actor and with many other wins already (i.e. LA film critics) it looks like nothing can stop him from winning the big golden statue come oscar night.
The Social Network continued its unstoppable run, getting best director, picture (drama), screenplay and score (watch out Inception!).
The other wins seem very like the wins we might see come oscar night:
Natalie Portman for her fantastic performance in Black Swan (although Annette Bening the main runner up was nominated and won for Best Actress (Comed/Musical, so there was no Portman Bening face off this time):
Colin Firth: Best Actor for King’s Speech
Paul Giamatti: Best Actor (Comedy/Musial) for Barney’s Version
Melissa Leo: Best Supporting Actress for The Fighter
And Toy Story 3 for: Yeah-you’re-basically-one-of-the-best-movies-but-we-treat-you-like-trash-because-you-are-only-animated-award.
If there is no change come the guild-awards it looks like Social Network will clean up the awards.
